At Comprehensive Learning Educational Consulting & Services Inc:

My purpose is to support ALL Learners and provide solutions to achieve success.

Empowering Your

Child’s Educational Journey

My background

    • My name is Devon Grewal and I enjoy working with students of all learning levels!

    • I am a Learning Specialist & Level B Assessments Administrator and part of the ARC-BC Team.

    • I have been an Inclusive Education Specialist for over 25 years and I work for the Victoria School District part time.

    • Currently I have taken the role of Literacy Intervention Specialist and work with students 1:1 to build reading fluency, reading comprehension, and vocabulary skills to enhance their cognitive learning in their Academics.

    • I became a B.C. Certified K-12 Teacher in 1998 through the PDP Teaching program at Simon Fraser University.

    • Completed post graduate courses in Special Education in 2001 at the University of British Columbia. I have attended many conferences and seminars on working with students with ADHD, Anxiety, and various types of learning disabilities. I currently work with students of all learning profiles and provide them with strategies and adaptations they require to have success.

    • Completed Level B assessment training at the University of Victoria in 2004. I am trained to administer, score, interpret results, and provide feedback on various standardized achievement tests. I currently administer Level B assessments in the School District. I collaborate with the School District Psychologist to review results of student psycho-educational assessments and support Teachers with the implementation of the recommendations listed in the assessment.

    • Completed Low Incidence Training in 2007 by the Low Incidence District Team in the Victoria School District. Low Incidence refers to students with Autism, or below 70 IQ.

    • Completed Universal Designs For Learning (UDL) training through the province of British Columbia and the Victoria School District in 2007. As a District Team Leader, I was responsible for providing UDL principles to designing courses and adopting a teaching style that meet the needs of learners with different backgrounds, abilities and learning styles. Everyone learns differently, so there is no one-size-fits-all teaching method. I supported Academic Teachers in fostering these principles and incorporating it into their teaching practices.

    • I completed Fast ForWord reading intervention training and literacy development.

    • Trained by Evelyn Reiss of “Great Word House” on the Orton-Gillingham Approach -building foundational literacy skills.

  • I believe in an individualized approach to learning, and tailoring a child’s learning to their needs and strengths.

I can assist in this process so your child can be successful!

I look forward to supporting your Learners on their educational journey!
